I wonder how many people reading this article set a New Year’s resolution to make money fast this year. If you did, I have to wonder why you would wait until the end of the year to decide that you want to make money fast? I would think that waiting would defy logic. The truth is that you do not have to wait for the ball to drop at Times Square to take action towards your goals. A resolution can be made at any time of the year. Hence, I am going to outline four things which you need to do right now to make money fast.

1. Be Resilient

Remember folks, the goal is to make money fast. This is nothing less than a challenge. What do you do when face with a challenge? You put forth your absolutely best effort. At least I hope that you do.

2. Define Your Goals

Are you setting goals which you can actually achieve, or are you being overzealous? For example, the person who says that they want to make money fast, then states that they want to earn $3,000,000 in the next six months is not setting achievable goals. While it is great to set challenging goals, there is a difference between challenging and ridiculous. You can still make money fast, and not appear to be out of touch. Moreover, setting unrealistic goals is setting yourself up for disaster.

3. Show No Quit

You cannot quit as soon as you reach the first obstacle. If something goes awry, and you do not make money as quickly as you anticipated, you must keep keeping on. The road to any goal is paved with pitfalls and unexpected events. You must regroup, and bounce back from any set back.

4. Celebrate Success

At the end of the year, reward yourself based on how well you kept your resolution to make money fast. The franchisee will incur fees in exchange for name recognition and national advertising. Products for the business must only be purchased from predetermined, authorized vendors. Of course, you will be listed as the owner of the franchise, but not the business.

One thing which I find somewhat troubling, is the fact that so many people become involved in a home based business for the purpose of gaining more family time. What these people often find out, is that they have less time than they did before leaving their jobs and taking on a home based business. Nonetheless, I think I have come up with a solutions. We will discuss this further below.

In the beginning, you must constantly remind yourself that your new home based business in not dissimilar to a new job. Similar to a new job, you will experience a learning curve. This will be the case even if your business is in an area in which you are familiar. For instance, you may not have the same time saving technology for your home business as you were accustomed to in the past. However, over time, you will find that you become more adept at doing things, and may even discover new ways to become more efficient by multi-tasking.

The thing that you may not like to read, is the fact that entrepreneurs often have to make sacrifices early in their business in order to prosper in the future. This is something which you must know for yourself, and explain clearly to your family. When you initially engage in a home based business, you have a myriad of responsibilities. You are not yet able to delegate these responsibilities, as the business is not yet generating enough revenue to pay for such services. However, once the business becomes prosperous, many of the requisite duties, such as marketing, accounting, secretarial work, etc., can be delegated to third parties.

It is clear that, especially in the early stages of your home based business, you have a finite number of hours available to you daily. Here are some suggestions which may help.

For those of you with children at home, you must set a concrete work schedule. You must also make it clear to your children that during the hours set out in your work schedule, that you are literally at work, and your time must be respected in such a manner.

For those of you who have children who attend school, create your schedule around times when your children will be home. For instance, plan to eat lunch at the same time that your children come home to eat lunch. Then plan your next break for when your children come home after school. When it is time for the kids to do their homework, you can go back to work. Thereafter, you can eat dinner together.

Personally, I need less sleep than do the members of my family. As a result, I am able to frequently work late while my family is sleeping, or wake up early and work, also while my family sleeps.

I realize that waking up early to work is not a solution for everyone. First of all, many people do need an adequate amount of sleep to function efficiently. Secondly, often times your specific business may dictate that you work during a different set of hours. Consequently, you will need to determine what works best for you. So long as while developing your schedule, you are keeping your family involved, you will have no problems determining what works and what does not work. Furthermore, your family will be more likely to abide by your schedule if you include them in the development process.

The key to balancing your family life with your home based business life, is planning and communication. If you do these two things, you will be successful.

When we think about, or talk about our goals, we often use the word \”should\” when referring to a specific action which we must take in order to achieve out goals. Most of us think that \”should\” is just an innocent word that helps us get out of boring conversations and confrontations regarding our bad habits. Just think of how foolish you would sound telling your boss, \”I know that the appropriate thing to do is to stay late and finish the proposal so I am prepared for tomorrow\’s meeting, but instead of doing that, I am going to go home and watch Monday Night Football on my sixty-five inch LCD-TV and take the chance of not finishing it before the meeting tomorrow morning.\” If this is what you really mean, why bother disguising with a \”should?\” Deep down, you know what is really going on. Just be honest with everyone, including yourself.

3. You are well aware of the changes which need to be made to improve your life, however, you are delaying. Each and every one of you reading this article who knows that you should lower your blood pressure, quit smoking, or get an advanced degree, know just what needs to be done in order to live a healthier lifestyle, feel more energetic, and advance in your job. Unfortunately for you, the word \”should\” provides you with the comfort that you have acknowledged what needs to be done. The problem is that you are not doing it. Just sitting by idly, and allowing life to just happen to you is easy. Grabbing life and molding it in a manner which you have always envisioned takes effort, but pays off several times over.
