Rain- seems like that’s what we got for almost the entire summer! When did New York and Seattle trade places and I had no idea?
As rain was the lead topic of discussion for most of us Northeasterners the beginning of the Summer, it brings to mind a seminar on Branding I learned from Dr. Benjamin Mack which co-incidentally he entitled How to Be a Rainmaker.
In this and future articles I am going to attempt to cover the most important pointsof the talkwhich included: 1) Making lightning Strike, 2) Keeping the Lightning Striking and 3) How to Bottle your Lightning.
Those not familiar who Ben Mack is should know that he ranks among the top dogson Branding currently in the country bar none! Mr. Mack (or should I say Dr. Mack) has held tenure some of the best advertizing agencies during his memorable professional undertakings. How does Vice President for Brand Strategy at one of the major corporations grab you?
In a nut shell what that means is he was in charge of a budget of ” billion dollars (now thats massive amounts money)! To me that indicates someone who has some clout on Branding, don’t you agree? In addition to being a professional magician, Ben Mack has performed magic for many companies over the years, and at age 19 was the receiver of the celebrated (if your into magic) Award of Merit given by the AMA.
Do you know what a Rainmaker is? Do you want to become one? A rainmaker aside from the apparent implication of a Medicine Man who using magic makes it rain, is an individual with the extraordinary talent to be a magnet for customers, exploit (in a good way) political associations, and bottom line, make the corporation a great deal of money. However, when it rains the lightning isnt too far away! We will get more into that in a bit.
As an internet Marketer your chief duty is to “up sell” individuals on their perception of reality. In Ben Macks book “Think Two Products Ahead” he speaks of how effective branding only occurs when companies think two products ahead rather then thinking just for the moment and for them to assemble a prosperous relationship with their clients by means of their Brand The section in the book where Ben talks about creating your Legend Platform is just fantastic!
The “Brand” (called YOU) is formulated by using legends or tales that are told over and over and gain strenght with time. These stories should be permitted to say the opposite of what the others say and will increase as the stories get older. So, if you had to make a choice of the type of story you use to make your business shine like a diamond (you are reading articles like this to help you right?) why not let them be legends. A Legendary business is a profitable one!
